Personally, I stopped using RPG Maker because of it. I personally feel both frustration and understanding, he did put a lot of work into it, of course he deserves to make something off of that, I just hate how things took a random turn into /forcing/ people to pay. I'm not gonna say anyone's wrong or right for how they feel, I'm just gonna say there is definitely frustration, and understanding, and a big mix of feelings. The diversity in the opinion of this is large. I think the thing that really frustrates people, including myself, is the fact that someone was offering this as a hobby, not asking anything for it, and then did a 180 out of nowhere and started charging us for it. I love supporting developers, hell, I subscribe to things even when there's no great reward for it, I just like to help keep someone in business. It upset me, honestly, as it was previously free- and THEN he changed his mind.
